In this chapterSave and remove an account’s HTTPS token securely.
Some remotes use HTTPS instead of SSH. Then the host needs a token.
- Save a token per account: Account › Edit, or
gittrail token set <account>. It’s stored in your system keychain (Windows Credential Manager, macOS Keychain, Linux Secret Service), never in Git config, and never shown again. - GitTrail answers Git’s password requests for that account’s host and username only, so two accounts on the same host each use their own token (set up automatically).
- Where to make a token: the account form links to the host’s token page.
- Remove a token: Account › HTTPS token › Remove token, or
gittrail token rm <account>.
